Applebee’s raising money for Laurel Run July 11
On Tuesday, July 11, Chautauqua County residents can support people with special needs just by dining at Applebee’s.
From 11:00 a.m. to midnight, the Applebee’s restaurants in Dunkirk and Lakewood will hold “Dining to Donate” promotions to benefit the 21st annual Laurel Run. The restaurants will donate 10 percent of the price of your meal to Laurel Run. Patrons must present a special voucher in order for the money to be donated to Laurel Run. A printable version of the voucher appears below. You can also have a voucher faxed or emailed to you by phoning 661-4735.
Please be aware that for the Applebee’s Dining to Donate fund-raiser, you will not receive a discount on the cost of your meal. Rather, 10 percent of what you pay for your meal will be donated to Laurel Run.
Laurel Run was created in 1997 by Wayne and Elaine Hotelling in honor of their oldest daughter, who has Down syndrome. Laurel Run is a celebration of the potential that exists within people who have disabilities. Money raised through Laurel Run goes to Filling the Gap, Inc., which works with The Resource Center to improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families in Western New York.
The 21st annual Laurel Run takes place July 14 and 15. The first day features a Jamestown-to-Dunkirk relay run, while day two includes a number of walking and running events in the Hotellings’ hometown of Silver Creek. For more information, visit www.laurel-run.com or phone 661-4735.
